Number three in a series of contemporary twists on a classic mode of pop-culture, the celebrity portrait. In this case, a double-dose of celebrity - Elizabeth Taylor’s 1963 Hollywood portrayal of Cleopatra VII
Philopator. Each version in the series is augmented with varying touches of decoration, leading us to wonder whether it’s Cleopatra or Taylor that is wearing the new accoutrements and fashions. Cléo No.3 features dominant pinks and purples washing throughout the composition. Yellow details are applied suggesting both tribal inspired body adornments and geometric, retro science fiction-like shapes.
