The Cover Up
Acrylic on Papyrus
52 x 42 cm
Painting made with acrylic on handmade Egyptian papyrus. The juxtaposition between tradition and modernity has its turning point in this work. The obelisk, one of the emblems of ancient Egypt, represents the status of divinity but is opaqued by graffiti and caricatures.
This contrasts with the urbanized image of today's world. The artist also innovates with experimental techniques by appealing to a contemporary aesthetic on papyrus.
